I thought this was pretty fantastic!

Personally, the best practical use of instant search that I've ever seen.

I personally thought that it was quite terrible. Both the performance itself, and the preposterous introduction, suggesting that Lehrer "wrote this song because he was a scientist" (I am afraid to think what would have been said about why he wrote "The Masochism Tango"...).

He wasn't accompanied by piano, and was going for brevity (skipping interludes and such). Aside from the slip up at the end, it wasn't bad at all.

Side note: I recently came across a Tom Lehrer book of sheet music while mildly intoxicated in a DC bookstore, and I attempted to sing The Elements to impress a female companion. I have enough trouble not stumbling through the tongue twisters while sober. Lesson learned.

I am afraid I am not convinced, though thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much!! I had no idea there was a Tom Lehrer songbook. Now I can play them too!
(Too bad Alma is not included, it's my favorite)

I didn't mean to suggest that Daniel Radcliffe's performance was fantastic. My comment referred to the fact that somebody young and extremely popular went on television and proclaimed that Tom Lehrer is hilarious and clever. Think of how many young Harry Potter fans are now frantically googling Tom Lehrer, and buying up his records. That, I think, is pretty fantastic.
